Random Mountain Biking thoughts.

I think how nasty your yard is equal to how committed you are to cycling. I don’t know how long it took for me to mow my yard last month but between training, work and racing there was no time. I didn’t even take the hint when one of my neighbors mowed the part between the street and the side walk for me. That guys a sucker, maybe if I did nothing he would mow the whole thing and save me the time.

It only took me 1/3 of a mile running at 24 Hours at Old Pueblo to remind me why I stopped doing that after high school. Man is a tool maker and we are supposed to use our opposable thumbs to rise above the animals. This is why I think it is only primitives that run. I think I do a disservice to all the smart humans who have struggled to give me advanced cycling capabilities to run to a bike.

I think the positive energy I am sending off to attractive women to start riding bikes is paying off, or at least there seems to be hotter and hotter chicks riding these days. Case and point, Ergon hottie Irina Kalentieva. Not only is she hot and Russian but she answers her own mail, even to a stalker like myself. I visited her web site and saw that she sends out pictures. I typed in my info and sure enough a few weeks later I get a letter from Germany with two autographed pictures. Now that’s service. If I can only get Shonny Vanlandingham to do the same I will be happy.

I wish Scarlet Johansson rode a bike. If she did, do you think she would ride mountain or road? On the one hand she lives in Hollywood and they are so trendy there that I am sure it would have to be a road bike. I hold out hope that it would be mountain though because as I was “researching” this blog I found a picture of her with a bull ring piercing which totally says mountain bike.

Why is it that every major ass kicking I get on a bike is prefaced by the guy doing the kicking saying something like “Yea I haven’t been riding much.” Or “I have been sick so I don’t know how I will do.”

A lot of people say they ride. But if you ride you know one sure way to spot others who ride as well.

I think how committed you are to being a roadie can be measured by the number of people you don’t wave to on a given day.
