I know I’m including a lot of links to Velo News this week but they just wrote up an article on Arizona’s very own McDowell Mountain Park which is just north of my house here. Many a great mountain bike battle has taken place out there and remains one of the fastest rolling trials available.

In the story they include a picture of the infamous second drop on the tech loop where everyone gathers in hopes of watching some one go down hard. One of the closest calls I have had there was trying to over take some one who took the wimpy right line like the guy in the photo is doing while I took the drop like a real man to the left. We banged bars at the bottom but thankfully I saw the collision coming and leaned into him pushing him off the trial before he took me out.

If you have rocks in your head and live in the valley get your 29er out there and put some miles down. It’s the best track in town for big wheels and you’ll love it.
